Dialzara Alternatives: 6 AI Answering Services Compared on Price

Dialzara is one of the cheapest ways to get an AI answering your phone: $29 a month. For a lot of small businesses that’s exactly the right place to start. The people who go looking for an alternative usually hit one of three things: the minutes run out sooner than expected, the cheapest plan doesn’t book into a calendar, or calls went to voicemail when the balance hit zero.

Here’s what Dialzara includes, where those limits come from, and six alternatives with their real prices. Everything is from each vendor’s own pricing page, checked on 22 October 2026. We make Ansdale, which is one of the six, so weigh our take on it accordingly.

What does Dialzara cost and include?

PlanPriceMinutesExtra minutes
Business Lite$29/mo60$0.48
Pro$99/mo220$0.45
Plus$199/mo500$0.40
Elite$349/mo1,000$0.35

Dialzara also has a done-for-you service from $1,500 a month. On the plus side, it counts only live talk time, tracked to the second with no rounding up, it answers 24/7, and there’s no setup fee, no contract and a 7-day free trial.

Why do people look for a Dialzara alternative?

  • 60 minutes goes quickly. At three minutes a call, the $29 plan covers about 20 calls a month. A busy trade business can use that in a few days.
  • No calendar sync on the cheapest plan. Dialzara’s pricing page shows Google and Outlook calendar sync from the $99 Pro plan up, not on Business Lite. If you want the AI to book jobs into your calendar, the real starting price is $99.
  • Minutes work like a prepaid balance. You buy more or turn on auto-recharge. If the balance reaches zero without auto-recharge, callers go to voicemail, which is the thing you were paying to avoid.

None of that makes Dialzara a bad product. Its per-second billing is fairer than most, and if you get a handful of calls a month and don’t need booking, $29 is hard to beat.

Upfirst: cheapest way to get booking

Upfirst counts calls, not minutes, and includes calendar booking on every plan with Google, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity, Square and Clio. Spam, calls under 15 seconds and calls where nobody speaks aren’t billed. There’s a 14-day free trial with no card. The catch is per-call billing: if your calls are long, that’s a good deal; if you get lots of short ones, the call count climbs fast.

Rosie: most minutes for the money

Rosie’s $49 plan includes 250 minutes, more than four times Dialzara’s entry plan. Calendar booking with Google Calendar and Calendly starts on the $149 plan; the $49 plan texts callers a booking link instead. If you go over, Rosie moves you up to the next plan rather than charging per minute. We wrote a full Rosie review.

Ansdale: built for trades, booking on every plan

Ours. Ansdale answers your existing number, books jobs into its calendar with two-way Google Calendar sync on every plan, and routes urgent calls to you under rules you write. Plans are $49, $99 or $199 a month for 100, 250 or 500 AI minutes, and extra minutes are billed per minute rather than calls going to voicemail. It doesn’t connect natively to field service software like Jobber or ServiceTitan, so if one of those runs your business, compare their own options first.

Goodcall: for businesses with lots of repeat callers

Goodcall doesn’t meter minutes or calls at all. It counts unique customers, one phone number once a month, and spam doesn’t count. That’s a good fit if the same customers call you repeatedly. If most of your calls are new leads, each one counts.

My AI Front Desk: one bundle with texting and chat

Now branding itself as Frontdesk, it sells one main plan at $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, with 200 voice minutes, a website chatbot, 400 texts and outbound calls bundled in. Extra minutes are $0.25 each, among the lowest overage rates here. Calendars connect through Zapier rather than natively, so expect some setup.

Smith.ai: if you might want humans later

Smith.ai’s AI receptionist has a free plan for 25 calls a month, then Pro from $150 for 75 calls, with AI scheduling included from the free plan up. Smith.ai also runs live receptionists, so it’s a natural choice if you think you’ll want people on some calls. Per-call pricing makes it the most expensive AI option here at volume.

How do you choose?

  • Under 20 calls a month and no booking needed: Dialzara’s $29 plan or Upfirst’s $24.95 plan.
  • You want jobs booked into your calendar for under $100: Upfirst, or Ansdale if you’re a trade business that wants emergency routing too.
  • You want the most minutes per dollar: Rosie, as long as text-a-link booking is fine on the cheapest plan.
  • Repeat customers make up most of your calls: Goodcall.

Whichever you pick, run last month’s call log through its pricing, then do it again for your busiest month. Our flat rate answering service guide shows how to do that, and the best AI answering services roundup covers more options.
