Goodcall prices its AI phone agent differently from almost everyone else. It doesn’t count minutes or calls. It counts unique customers: each phone number that calls you counts once a month, however often it rings and however long it talks. For some businesses that’s the best deal going. For others, especially ones whose phones are full of new leads, a different model works out cheaper or simpler.
Here’s how Goodcall’s pricing works, who it suits, and the alternatives worth comparing, with prices from each vendor’s own pricing page on 22 October 2026. We make Ansdale, one of the alternatives, so read our section with that in mind.
How does Goodcall’s pricing work?
| Plan | Monthly price | Unique customers | Each extra customer | Goodcall’s estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $79 | 100 | 79 cents | About 150 calls |
| Growth | $129 | 500 | 26 cents | About 750 calls |
| Scale | $299 | 2,000 | 15 cents | About 3,000 calls |
Enterprise is through sales. A unique customer is one phone number, once a month, and Goodcall says spam doesn’t count. Instead of a timed free trial, you can set up a demo agent for free and pay once you connect a phone number. The pricing page doesn’t mention setup fees or contract terms, so ask about both.
Who is Goodcall a good fit for?
Businesses where the same people call again and again. Think of a shop whose customers ring to check on a job three times a week, or a service with a base of regulars. Every repeat call is free once that number has been counted, and long calls cost nothing extra.
Here’s a worked example. A contractor gets 150 calls a month from 120 different numbers. On Goodcall’s Starter plan that’s $79 plus 20 extra customers at 79 cents, or $94.80. If the business grows to 400 different callers a month, the $129 Growth plan covers it with room to spare, which is cheap for that volume.
Why do people look for a Goodcall alternative?
- New leads all count. If most of your calls come from people who’ve never called before, which is normal for a trade business running ads, unique-customer pricing loses its main advantage.
- A higher starting price. At $79, Goodcall’s entry plan costs more than several alternatives that start between $25 and $49.
- Booking isn’t spelled out. The pricing page mentions a “booker” but doesn’t name a calendar integration. If booking into your calendar during the call is the main thing you need, confirm exactly how it works first.
- No timed trial on real calls. The demo agent is free, but you pay once your number is connected.
Goodcall alternatives, with prices
| Service | Starts at | Counted by | Calendar booking | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Goodcall | $79/mo | Unique customers | Not clearly stated | Free demo agent |
| Upfirst | $24.95/mo | Calls | All plans | 14 days |
| Dialzara | $29/mo | Minutes, to the second | From $99 plan | 7 days |
| Rosie | $49/mo | Minutes | From $149 plan | 7 days |
| Ansdale (ours) | $49/mo | Minutes | All plans, two-way Google Calendar sync | 7 days |
| My AI Front Desk | $99/mo | Minutes and credits | Through Zapier | 7 days |
| Smith.ai AI receptionist | Free, then $150/mo | Calls | All plans | Free 25-call plan |
- Upfirst is the cheapest way in, with native booking on every plan. It counts calls, but doesn’t bill spam, calls under 15 seconds or calls where nobody speaks.
- Dialzara bills talk time to the second, which is fair for short calls, but its $29 plan has 60 minutes and no calendar sync. See our Dialzara alternatives guide.
- Rosie gives 250 minutes for $49 and moves you up a plan if you go over. Our Rosie review explains the trade-offs.
- My AI Front Desk bundles phone, chat and texting for $99. We compared its alternatives too.
- Smith.ai suits you if you want the option of live receptionists later, though per-call pricing gets expensive at volume.
Ansdale, ours, is built for contractors and home service businesses. It answers your existing number, books estimates and service calls into its calendar during the call on every plan, and routes urgent calls to you under rules you set. Plans are $49, $99 or $199 a month for 100, 250 or 500 AI minutes, with extra minutes billed per minute. If most of your calls are repeat customers having long conversations, Goodcall’s model may still work out cheaper, and it’s worth running the numbers both ways.
Our flat rate answering service guide shows the same month priced across per-minute, per-call and per-customer models.
