Jobber AI Receptionist vs Ansdale: How They Compare
Jobber is field service software: scheduling, quoting, invoicing and payments. It now also sells Receptionist, an AI receptionist powered by Jobber AI that answers calls and texts. Ansdale is a standalone AI receptionist and answering service for contractors, with dispatch and invoicing on its higher plans. If you are weighing the Jobber AI receptionist against Ansdale, the real questions are how each is priced, which phone number it answers and where the booking lands.
What is the Jobber AI Receptionist?
According to Jobber’s pricing page and help center (checked 19 October 2026):
- It answers calls and texts to a dedicated Jobber phone number. You can keep using your existing number, but Jobber says a dedicated number in Jobber is still required.
- It books work using your Jobber Online Booking form, so new requests land in your Jobber schedule and client list.
- Each conversation is logged with a summary, a transcript and a recording.
- It costs $29 a month as an add-on on select Jobber plans, and it is included with unlimited usage on the Plus plan. Jobber’s help center gives two different allowances for the add-on: its Receptionist article (updated 9 July 2026) says 30 conversations, then $0.79 for each extra one, while its add-ons article (updated 13 August 2026) says 100 conversations a month. Ask Jobber which one applies to your account.
- It sits on top of a Jobber subscription; Jobber’s plans start at $29 a month.
What Ansdale does
Ansdale answers your existing business line through ordinary call forwarding, in your company’s name, 24/7. It asks the questions your trade needs, flags emergencies under rules you write and escalates them to your number, and books the job into its calendar during the call, with two-way Google Calendar sync so it only offers times you are free. Every call opens with an AI disclosure built into the greeting.
Plans are $49, $99 or $199 a month with 100, 250 or 500 AI call minutes; extra minutes are billed at a flat per-minute rate. Booking is on every plan. Growth adds the dispatch board, staff app, and call recordings with transcripts; Pro adds quotes, invoicing and on-site payment. See AI receptionist pricing.

Which one should answer your phone?
The Jobber AI receptionist makes sense if you already run your business in Jobber, you are happy for calls to come through a dedicated Jobber number, and your volume fits the add-on’s conversation allowance (30 or 100 a month, depending on which Jobber help article you go by) or you are on the Plus plan.
Ansdale makes sense if you do not use Jobber, you want the AI on the number customers already call, or you want a flat plan with minutes rather than a conversation cap. It can also run alongside Jobber: Ansdale answers and books, and booking details can be pushed out by webhook, for example through Zapier, while Jobber keeps quoting and invoicing.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the Jobber AI receptionist?
Jobber lists Receptionist at $29 a month on select plans, and it is included with unlimited usage on the Plus plan. Jobber’s help center gives two allowances for the add-on: 30 conversations, then $0.79 each, in its Receptionist article (updated 9 July 2026), and 100 conversations a month in its add-ons article (updated 13 August 2026), so confirm with Jobber. You also need a Jobber subscription; plans start at $29 a month.
Does Jobber answer my phone without the add-on?
No. Without Receptionist, Jobber does not answer calls; they go to whoever is free or to voicemail.
Do I need a new phone number for the Jobber AI receptionist?
Jobber’s help center says a dedicated phone number in Jobber is required for Receptionist, even if you keep using your existing number. With Ansdale you forward your existing line instead.
Is Ansdale a Jobber alternative?
For answering the phone, yes. For running quotes, invoices and crews at Jobber’s depth, no; many shops use an AI receptionist alongside their field service software. See Jobber alternatives.
